News and Needs

I want to start this short update with a thank you so very much to those of you who have given to provide food for “some of the least of these.” We want to recognize your generous hearts and let you know that God will richly bless you for caring for His children with their great needs during this incredibly difficult time, because that is what the scriptures say. “Whatever you do to the least of these, you do to Me.” ( Matt 25:37,40)  It is amazing to me that God would use us (Kingdom Partners and you) in this amazing way; it started with feeding one family and continued on with what it is now, feeding about 120+ families! We have had to cut back to one meal a day instead of two on the feeding program due to insufficient funds, but even so, we have given out 668,960 meals as of Saturday, June 12. All of that in a little over a year. We are so grateful to you for all you have done. Praise God!

Despite these incredible numbers, the truth is that we are out of funds for the feeding program and will be unable to send any more in a few weeks because we have exhausted all of the Feeding Program funds and will have exhausted Kingdom Partners reserves as well.  I am not saying this to guilt you, but just as a matter of fact. We told God that we would do this program as long as He provides the money, and we don’t want to shut it down prematurely...

Things are still a long way from returning to normal in Kenya. While some things have gotten better...schools are now open and distancing is over...the curfews still remain and most of the parents cannot afford the school fees, uniforms and shoes in order to send their children to school. Many have gone looking for work and have come up empty-handed as the people who used to hire them for odd jobs can no longer afford to  pay them.

There have been several times that we were close to shutting down this program, but God in His goodness prompted people to provide more funds. So we are praying this is the case yet again. It’s amazing how far our small amount of money can stretch to do so much. Seven dollars will feed a person for a entire month and $50 will feed a family. Would you consider using some of your stimulus money or a small portion of the Child Tax Credit that many of you will soon be receiving?  Or consider taking our 7/7 challenge by committing to donate $7 a month and asking 7 friends to do the same.

A Quick Family update:

Tammy will be flying to England on June 15 to visit Koral & Divan, John & Marie and Grand Baby # 5, Elijah Isaac Myers, who was born to John & Marie on April 22nd. Tammy will be gone for 15 days. She is so excited to go, she can’t see straight! Please keep us in your prayers as our housing situation is up in the air. After living in this house for 18 years, this amazing blessing from God may be over soon. The provision of this house has allowed us to do ministry in this area, and we have been richly blessed. So we are asking for another miracle, especially with the way houses are selling in our area...Seems like everybody has lost their minds.

Thanks so much for all of your prayers and support, we appreciate you sewing into us so that we are able to sew into others. Thanks for being part of the team!

Partnering together for the sake of His Kingdom,

Roger
